Goodbye WordPress

I’m sorry to say that this is the end.. I am leaving now …goodbye….(That is my Bilbo Baggins quote for all you Lord of the Rings fans) Anyway…

My memory is about to run out on wordpress and being the cheapo that I am I do not want to pay to get more. My new blog is blogger. I have found that I like blogger more. WordPress is just more complicated to use. It is natalieplus3.blogspot.com ,If you want to know why I chose that title visit my new blog. For now, Goodbye wordpress. I will miss you (sorta).

I win!!! I win!!

I won March Madness for our family (meaning Dad, Ethan, Mom, and Levi). Now, this may not sound very big to you, but I never thought that I would win for our family ever… When I make my picks I choose the teams whose names I like… this year I guess I just got lucky.  As long as I live I will always remember the year I won and got the milk shake prize! Until I get that prize I will just enjoy my brothers jealous and angry looks. Levi was very disturbed that I beat him this year. Ha ha ha!!

Baseball

Ethan and Levi are playing baseball on the sam team this year! Last time they did it was in 2007 which is when this picture was taken. I look forward to seeing them play!

Caitlin is coming!!

My best friend Caitlin called me a little while ago telling me that she ordered a plane ticket and will come here in May!!! I can’t wait to see her! I haven’t seen her in a year. I know that sounds like a really long time, but for us that is really soon. My family has gone out there consistantly every 2 years since we moved here, but Caitlin has never been out here. I can’t wait to show her around my favorite sites in Oregon. Caitlin, Just think, less than 2 months and you will be here!

Steps For Life

I am going to be doing Steps for Life for my 4th Year in May.  I really like what Pregnancy Resource Center does and this year I plan to volunteer there. My dad said that this year they especially need support given the economy. Last year I raised $335! My fund raising goal this year is $500. I don’t know if I will get that, but I do know that what I contribute will go to a great cause.  Below is a message from PRC that explains what they do and what I will be doing.

On May 16th I will be participating in the Steps for Life walkathon (2-miles). Proceeds benefit the work of Pregnancy Resource Centers of Greater Portland who help 8,000 women (and pre-born babies) annually through 5 Centers, providing free pregnancy tests, comprehensive peer counseling, free Ultrasound (given by RNs), practical help, referrals and real hope to those facing unplanned pregnancies.

March Madness

I am normally not into sports at all, but one of my favorite things in March is March Madness. It is where 65 college basketball teams compete to win the national championship.  We always fill out brackets and smack talk each other’s picks. I always come in dead last, tied with Mom, but I still love doing it. The winner of our family always gets a milk shake. I think we owe Dad like four milkshakes right now. Also we always enter our picks on the computer to compete against our cousins uncles and aunts.  This one I never do any better at, but I’m tied for first right now… I will see how long that lasts (I’m tied for first with nine people including my 3 year old cousin). I chose North Carolina to win this year. They let me down last year, but I am giving them a second chance. Something that happend last year that has never happend before is I sat down and actually watched a whole basketball game on TV (it was the game where UNC lost). I was proud of myself, though Ethan and Levi thought it was pretty pathetic! Beware Miles family, I am going to win this year!

What?

When my Dad and I were in Borders for my birthday to get a book, while wandering down  rows of books trying to find the one I wanted, I was surprised by all the books that are out about vampires. I probably counted at least a dozen different vampire romance books.  Now if you come up with a good answer to my question, please comment  “What is SO romantic about a vampire?!” I mean, vampires totally freak me out. They drink your blood for goodness sake! I would really like to know what people are thinking. There are two main mythical creatures that scare me: wear-wolves  and vampires. What has the world come to when we start to think that mythical creatures that are evil would be the heroes of teen romance books. For those of you who are Twilight fans I have several good books/movies to recommend to you that don’t involve creepy humans with pointy teeth that suck your blood … Pride and Prejudice for example…Note Mr. Darcy does not bite Elizabeth in order to be able to wed her. So much more pleasant if you ask me.  Two, the Anne of Green Gables series: it is funny, romantic, and makes me cry every time I read or watch it. Three, well, any Jane Austin. I could go on.
